The Brilliance of Men, Sharon Earl

These sculptures are to celebrate the men who have built, and continue to build the infrastructure of our society.

I feel that I hold a rather unique perspective, gained from a non-typical placement in life. I was born with a natural aptitude for practical tasks, problem-solving skills and a brain that would now be diagnosed as ‘neuro-divergent’, gifting me a personality that aligns easily with boys and men. I greatly admired my father, and for some time, I shared a bedroom with my brother. Boys and men made sense to me. They were uncomplicated and used less words, and everything they did had a practical focus. I thought “these are the people for me”.
