Connection – A Night of Remembering is far more than a poetry reading. It is an intimate theatrical experience where poetry, music, storytelling, live art and community come together to create an evening that stays with you long after you leave.
Throughout the night, poet Jacky Foss shares deeply personal stories that explore childhood, motherhood, grief, love, belonging and the extraordinary moments hidden within everyday life. Each poem unfolds like a chapter, accompanied by live cello and piano, while artist Jan Maree creates a one-of-a-kind artwork that becomes part of the evening’s story.
You’ll laugh at life’s quirks, be moved by moments of tenderness, and recognise pieces of your own journey reflected in someone else’s. The audience isn’t simply watching a performance they become part of an experience that celebrates local creativity, kindness, connection and the power of community.
With interactive moments, heartfelt conversations, local artists and businesses, music, visual art and unforgettable storytelling, Connection – A Night of Remembering gently reminds us that we are never as alone as we think.
Whether you arrive carrying joy, grief, curiosity or simply the desire to experience something different, you’ll leave with a renewed appreciation for the stories that shape us and the connections that help us remember who we are.
