Cycling in Waimakariri is not just about the ride. It’s also about what you see and do along the way. Enjoy our Trails to Indulgence taking you from our beach settlements to our towns and cafes.

We have over 60kms of trails on the eastern side of Waimakariri. These trails can be ridden individually or join them up. Use our cycle trails map to get between rides and destinations. Discover our Eastern Cycle Trails.

Bored with the flat? then head to the hills and take your ride to new heights in Mount Oxford and Mount Richardson. These rides are subject to track conditions and are pretty Hard Out.

With two conservation parks set in the foothills of the southern alps, two braided rivers and a number of wetland, lakes and stream walks you can pick and choose how you want to spend your day in Waimakariri.

Decide on what walks you want to do, put on your shoes, grab some food, bring the kids, dog, sunscreen and hat and come on out.



Golfing Waimakariri Way

There are some fabulous opportunities to play golf in Waimakariri. With five courses to choose from you can tailor your day to suit.

Looking for day playing like a pro then head to Pegasus Golf Course, taking some time to practice on their state of art driving range.  Or looking more for that country feel then try Kaiapoi, Rangiora or Waimakariri Gorge courses.

Fancy something a little more casual then Riverlands Golf offers a nine hole, par 3 course and encourages you to bring your friends, work team or groups to come for a bit of fun.
