Creating an environment that gives opportunities to people of all ages to create, learn, explore, demonstrate and display visual arts.
The Oxford Gallery is located in the small, vibrant North Canterbury township of Oxford, a short 40 minute scenic drive from Christchurch. The gallery is operated as a not-for profit charitable trust and its staff are all Volunteers.
The gallery hosts exhibitions by local, national and overseas artists. The Fine Art gift shop offers a wide range of quality New Zealand artworks including ceramics, glass, jewellery, textiles, paintings and prints.
Our purpose-built gallery and gift shop were opened in 2010; this was made possible by a generous donation and on-going support from the Canterbury Community Trust. The four artists’ workshops will complete our vision to become a fully working Arts Centre. Construction of the first workshop was completed in February 2013, this valuable facility will continue to offer opportunities to participate in courses and allow interaction with artists in residence. The workshop is available for hire to demonstrate or participate in the visual arts.
