Woodend Beach is a peaceful coastal escape just north of Christchurch, forming part of a 13km stretch of sandy shoreline along the South Pacific. With its wide-open sands, gentle entry into the water, and plenty of space to roam, it’s a favourite for families, campers, surfers, and dog walkers alike.
Right at the beach, you’ll find the Woodend Beach Holiday Park, domain, playground, and toilet facilities – making it easy to spend the whole day or settle in for a longer stay. Just 5km up the road, the Woodend Township offers a few local spots to grab a bite to eat.
The beach is also patrolled by lifeguards during the summer months, adding peace of mind for swimmers.
