Joe Cocker Tribute-Down by the River-Ari Freeman with a Little Help from His Friend’s

The Joe Cocker Tribute by House of Kahurangi and friends nothing short of spectacular—a 2.5-hour showcase of raw passion and musical excellence, channeling the spirit of Cocker himself.

Ari Freeman leads the charge with commanding vocals, while Chris McEwin (drums) and John Strong (bass) provided the driving force behind the band. Sandra Wilson seamlessly transitions between songs with impeccable timing, and Danny Wilson’s piercing saxophone wails electrified the room.

The show had its share of stunning solo moments. Bunny (Moonflower) captivated the audience with Superstar, while Steph (Midnight Delta- all girl band) delivers songs including Let It Be with incredible intensity.

A standout surprise is Mike Booth and Ari’s soulful duet of Girl from the North Country, a performance that could easily rival the Leon Russell and Cocker rendition. Mike also steps into the spotlight with Something, adding yet another highlight.
