Matariki Planting

Help us to increase the native plantings along the river! Plantings provide a wide range of benefits including increasing native biodiversity, creating habitat for native wildlife (insects, reptiles and birds), stabilising soil, recreating ecological corridors, enhancing water quality and landscapes and providing a sense of place on our rivers.

At this special planting RSVP is essential as we will be finishing the event with a hangi instead of our traditional BBQ. While the hangi is being lifted well also have a some korero around the significance of Matariki. The activity is FREE, but registration is essential: ecan.govt.nz/planting-clean-up-events
