About Rachael King in Conversation with Rachael Craw

Join Rachael King, award-winning author of The Grimmelings, Secrets at Red Rocks, Violet and the Velvets, and brand new Young Adult fantasy Song of the Saltings, for a conversation with fellow novelist Rachael Craw (Spark, The Lost Saint) about writing, ideas and inspiration. There’ll be a Q & A for both readers and aspiring writers (bring your most burning questions!), followed by a book signing, with books available for purchase (or you can bring your own).

Rachael King
About the Author

A writer and book reviewer from Aotearoa New Zealand, she is the author of two adult novels, The Sound of Butterflies and Magpie Hall, as well as several books for younger readers. Her children’s novel Red Rocks (reissued as Secrets at Red Rocks) won the Esther Glen Medal and has been adapted into a television series.

Her work is often inspired by her love of Scottish folklore, music, and the natural world. She also writes the junior fiction series Violet and the Velvets, drawing on her own teenage years playing in rock bands.
