Rakau Stick Making for Tamariki
Continue the Matariki celebrations with a fun and creative activity for young hands and big imaginations!
Join us on Saturday 11th July 2026 at the Jaycee Hall, Oxford, for a special Rakau Stick Making event. Tamariki will have the opportunity to create and decorate their own rakau sticks while enjoying a morning of creativity, laughter and Matariki magic.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to join in and enjoy the experience together.
Hosted as part of Matariki Herenga Waka and the Oxford Winter Lights Festival, this is a wonderful opportunity for tamariki to connect, create and celebrate the Māori New Year with friends and whānau.
