The Raine & Horne Big Splash is Rachel’s House Trust’s annual community fundraiser held at the Rangiora RSA Club, bringing together local businesses, community groups, families and supporters for an unforgettable evening of fun, laughter and fundraising for a meaningful local cause.
The event sees brave “Local Legends” take the icy plunge into freezing cold water during the middle of winter — all while raising vital funds to support local māmā, babies and whānau across North Canterbury through the services provided by Rachel’s House Trust.
Fundraisers are encouraged to rally support from friends, family and workplaces, compete for our “Splash for Cash” fundraising awards, and embrace the fun by dressing up in creative costumes based around the event theme.
The evening is more than just the plunge itself — it is a lively community event featuring:
*The famous icy plunges every half hour
*Raffles and chocolate wheel prizes
*Corporate and community tables
*Entertainment, laughs and community spirit
*Opportunities to hear about the impact Rachel’s House Trust has within our community
Guests can come along to cheer on local legends including business owners, community members and local leaders as they brave the cold for charity, while enjoying a fantastic social evening with friends, colleagues and supporters.
All proceeds from the event help Rachel’s House Trust continue providing practical and emotional support to families with babies and young children, including social work support, advocacy, parenting programmes, baby essentials, mentoring, food support and community connection opportunities.
The Raine & Horne Big Splash is quickly becoming one of North Canterbury’s most entertaining and meaningful annual fundraising events — bringing the community together to make a real difference for local families who need support most.
