Art-loving families rejoice! Walk both sides of the Kaiapoi river and enjoy the hunt for obelisks created by local artists, stop off for a hearty lunchtime feast and finish with a trip to the gallery.
Situated on the banks of the Kaiapoi River amongst other sculptures are six obelisks created by local artists in 2009. To see all six, you will need to walk both sides of the river and head east to west. Most of the obelisks are on the north side of the river, so when you head east and then west, keep your eye on the other side! Heading west on the north side, cross over the Mafeking bridge to bring you back to the town.
With a menu that reads ‘Kids Come First’ you know the whole family will enjoy a visit to CBK. From street food to burgers, sandwiches to stone grill and over 50 craft beers - there’s something for everyone. Settle in for a hearty lunchtime feast.
